Nikki Bohm is an established multilingual Actress, Director, Writer, Producer and Casting Director born in Zagreb, Croatia and raised in Vancouver, Canada. She is currently residing in Los Angeles.
Nikki began her career as an Actor and Dancer at ZKM, one of the leading avant-garde theaters in Croatia. Under ZKM, she appeared in professional productions such as “Konrad The Kid From The Tin Can”, which participated at the International Dance and Acting Festival in Hague, Netherlands.
Nikki comes from a strong theater training background. She attended The School For Film and Television in New York, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and holds a full-time degree from the American Academy Of Dramatic Arts in New York.
RADA stage credits include lead roles: Cleopatra in Shakespeare’s “Anthony and Cleopatra” and Helena in “Midsummer Nights Dream”, directed by the established actor / director Hugh Fraser.
Off-Off Broadway credits include lead roles: Portia in “Merchant of Venice” (Queens Shakespeare Company), and Nance in “Female Transport”.
LA stage credits include lead roles: PMS - Platium Missile Strike in the award-winning musical “Patty The Revival” directed by award winning director Patrick Kennelly at the Highways Performance Space and Ursula in “Berlin Cowboys” at the Write Act Repertory directed by Iris Melris.
Film credits include lead roles of: Macon in "Road Wars" out on DVD US/INTERNATIONAL written and directed by award winning director Mark Atkins, Gigi in Thriller “Nobody Can Cool” out on DVD US/CANADA/EUROPE, lead role of Erin Cooper in award winning film “Off the Record”, Deadly Daisy in award winning short film “Ticket to the Haunted Mansion”, Nikki in JauntVR's 360-Stunt Short Film "Escape the Living Dead" directed by award winning director Matt Lewis, April in award-nominated short film “Affections” by Fatalis Partnership and more.
Nikki has also performed as the lead in award winning multidisciplinary artist, Orit Ben-Shitrit’s “Men Who Die, and They Are Not Happy”, with an exhibition at the Haifa Museum of Modern Art in Jerusalem.
Her passion for writing and directing came with her debut script “Nothing Happened” a short experimental film about domestic abuse written, produced and starring Francisco Ovalle and Nikki Bohm which premiered at the prestigious film festival Muestra Audio Visual Cine Sinu in Monteria, Cordoba, Colombia.
After this success Nikki wrote 3 short films, 3 Television Shows “The Bentley Timeshare”, "Untitled 1-Hour Drama TV Series", " Untitled Half-Hour Comedy Series", her debut Feature Film “Armadillo”, thriller feature film “Untitled Rabbit Project" and action-drama “Untitled Brazil project” including several other Feature Films in development.
Inspired by European Experimental film-making, American 1980’s cinema and it’s cultural array of diversity, as well as Latin American Cinema and it’s realism, Nikki strives to create written cinematic work with a message, dealing with human rights, social issues, realism and sprinkled with entertainment.
Nikki’s characters and directing approach arose from her years of experience as an actor/dancer. Having traveled around the world, she had the opportunity to discover diverse, new cultures and approaches on human issues and society values. This has led Nikki on a path of expressing deep and meaningful moments of a human psyche and visually exploring how choices, consequence and error has an important effect on people’s lives and the world around us.
Nikki wrote and directed two short experimental films “Grief” and "Masho's Descent", a Sizzle Trailer for her upcoming Feature Film "Armadillo" and her debut Pilot for her Comedy TV-Series "The Bentley Timeshare" shot by award winning Director of Photography Carmen Cabana (Narcos, Bullet).
As an active and respected member of The Fringe Theater Company, Nikki directed her debut theater play “i want to Kill Lena Dunham” written by Sergio Castillo, which premiered at the Avery Schreiber Theater, Los Angeles in October of 2014.
Nikki is also a well respected Casting Director with professional casting experience on various films such as multiple award nominated short film "Bug" starring Hassan Johnson (The Wire), "Milena" and the "The Choice of Life". Her most recent projects include the personal casting of celebrity actor Dean Winters (OZ, Law and Order SVU) in short film “Memoire” as well as celebrity actor Mark Moses (Desperate Housewives, Mad Men) in “The Tsarevich”.
Besides English and Croatian, Nikki is also fluent in German and Brazilian Portuguese.
