ARTIST AUTEUR - DIRECTOR/WRITER/PRODUCER
Nikki Bohm is an established multilingual Director, Writer, Actor and Producer- ARTIST AUTEUR, born in Zagreb, Croatia and raised in Vancouver, Canada. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
Nikki began her career as an Actor and Dancer at ZKM, one of the leading avant-garde theaters in Croatia. Under ZKM, she appeared in professional productions such as “Konrad The Kid From The Tin Can”, which participated at the International Dance and Acting Festival in Hague, Netherlands.
Nikki comes from a strong theater training background. She attended The School For Film and Television in New York, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and holds a full-time degree from the American Academy Of Dramatic Arts in New York.
RADA stage credits include lead roles: Cleopatra in Shakespeare’s “Anthony and Cleopatra” and Helena in “Midsummer Nights Dream”, directed by the established actor / director Hugh Fraser. Off-Off Broadway credits include lead roles: Portia in “Merchant of Venice” (Queens Shakespeare Company), and Nance in “Female Transport”. LA stage credits include lead roles: PMS - Platium Missile Strike in the award-winning musical “Patty The Revival” directed by award winning director Patrick Kennelly at the Highways Performance Space and Ursula in “Berlin Cowboys” at the Write Act Repertory directed by Iris Melris.
Film credits include lead roles of: Macon in "Road Wars" out on DVD US/INTERNATIONAL written and directed by award winning director Mark Atkins, Gigi in Thriller “Nobody Can Cool” out on DVD US/CANADA/EUROPE, lead role of Erin Cooper in award winning film “Off the Record”, Deadly Daisy in award winning short film “Ticket to the Haunted Mansion”, Nikki in JauntVR's 360-Stunt Short Film "Escape the Living Dead" directed by award winning director Matt Lewis, April in award-nominated short film “Affections” by Fatalis Partnership and more.
Nikki has also performed as the lead in award winning multidisciplinary artist, Orit Ben-Shitrit’s “Men Who Die, and They Are Not Happy”, with an exhibition at the Haifa Museum of Modern Art in Jerusalem.
Inspired by European Experimental filmmaking, American 1980’s horror cinema as well as Latin American film realism, Nikki creates cinematic work with macabre themes, mixing avant-garde with horror and fantasy genres, set in realistic voyeurism, which visually explores how choice, consequence and error can have an important and often detrimental effect on people’s lives and their psyche.
Nikki wrote, directed and produced auteur films "Ira" (Official Selection at the 51st Sitges Festival De Cinema Fantastic De Catalunya), "Masho's Descent" (GardenCity International Film Festival), "Grief", “Nothing Happened” (Muestra Audio Visual Cine Sinu), grind-house action/thriller Feature Film "Untitled Armadillo Project"and the Pilot for her Comedy Television Series "The Bentley Timeshare". .
In 2014, Nikki directed a sociopolitical play “I want to Kill Lena Dunham” written by Sergio Castillo, which premiered at the Avery Schreiber Theater in Los Angeles.
Frequently collaborating with Crystal Pantera Productions, Nikki also co-wrote, produced and starred in Mauricio Hoyos' "The Painting" , produced, developed and starred in Francisco Ovalle's "Nidorina" (Film Maudit 2.0 Festival) wrote, directed and produced surreal sci-fi drama "Astronaut Fred" and most recently, produced Patrick Kenelly's independent psycho thriller film "Hammurabi" (Brooklyn Film Festival).
In 2019, Nikki was invited as an Official Judge and panelist at the Montgomery International Film Festival 2019, the 12th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival (LABRFF) 2019 and Film Maudit 2.0 Film Festival.
Eager to inspire and help fellow filmmakers with her vast knowledge and experience in the film industry, Nikki worked as a Casting Director on award nominated short film "Bug" starring Hassan Johnson (The Wire), personally cast celebrity actor Dean Winters (OZ, Law and Order SVU) in short film “Memoire” and was the associate producer responsible for personally casting celebrity actor Mark Moses (Desperate Housewives, Mad Men) in award nominated short “The Tsarevich”.
Besides English and Croatian, Nikki is also fluent in German and Brazilian Portuguese.
